Welcome to our independent publishing journey

Published April 14, 2013 by G.L.

For anyone that doesn’t know us from our other blog ,Fighting to Bring Multiculturalism to YA, Fantasy and Sci Fi novels, It is almost ritual for both us to publish a post introducing ourselves, just so you get a feel for both of us.

I am Libertad(For anyone familiar with Old latin movies, I was named after the Argentine actress Libertad Lamarque) and my co-blogger, twin sister and co author is Guinevere(Yes, like Arthur’s wife, and Lancelot’s lover). We started another blog because collectively we felt like the other blog was getting crowded with topics that related more towards the title, spotlighting opinions that had to due mainly with what books we’re reading and topics that bug us.

We wanted to make a blog that specifically focused on what outlets we’re taking to get our book published. Here we plan to explore tips, hits and misses and chronological steps we took to get our books in the hands in as many hands as possible.

This blog will not focus on how to sell thousands of your book. Why? Because we haven’t sold thousands of our book, so how would we give advice about it. We will also not talk about how to make all this money going the independent route. The truth is you probably won’t make a lot of money publishing your books independently and that’s just being nice about it. What we will sell you on is telling our story on the ups and downs on independent publishing.

There are so many websites SELLING INFORMATION that should be otherwise free about experiences on self publishing.

Here, we pray(really like on our hands and knees)funny_praying_otter-otherthat we can get out some useful information on utilizing every source possible to get your book into the hands of hopeful readers.

We hope that we take this journey with us and possibly learn what works for you as in regards to getting your story out there. Whether you decide to take the Traditional publishing route or the Independent one, we hope to share the pros and cons on publishing independently.

  • I see you are following me, so I decided to visit your site. It is great how you introduced yourself and mentioned what you like to accomplish. I skimmed over your other blogs and like that you have to say. If you don’t mind I’ll include your link to my site, and will be visiting soon.
